Job Description

As a Sales Engineer, you are part of the Sales department, responsible for acquiring new projects. You possess knowledge of the components and functions of the products and understand the processes that make these products work. The Sales Engineer's task is to engage customers in purchasing products, create process designs, prepare quotes, and complete the sales process.

Your tasks

• - Preparing technical presentations and explaining product details to existing or potential customers.

The Technical Buyer is responsible for the procurement of OPEX and CAPEX goods. The Technical Buyer is also involved in contract management with suppliers and is part of the project organization. Daily tasks include inventory management and material demand planning for the office and warehouse.

Your tasks:

• Procuring materials and services not related to projects, ranging from office supplies to welding machines.
• Purchasing goods not related to projects.
• Deciding where goods can be purchased and requesting quotes.
• Evaluating quotes and consulting with the Head of Procurement to determine whether to place an order.
• Negotiating purchase prices, delivery times, and specifications.
• Implementing contract management with suppliers, especially those frequently ordered from.
• Recording administration of customer, supplier, and order data.
• Recording performance evaluations. 

Requirements fort the role:

• MBO (logistics or commerce).
• Knowledge and experience with CAPEX and OPEX procurement.
• Optionally, possession of a NEVI qualification.
• Knowledge and experience with IBS and ERM programs.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding procurement conditions and contracts.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English (both spoken and written).

  In this challenging role, ensure that the welding design achieves high-quality and quantity welding, complying with regulations, customer specifications, budget, and technical possibilities. Responsibilities include creating welding qualifications, procedures, and welder qualifications. Evaluate supplied welding documentation, establish technical material specifications for welding consumables, and oversee both internal and external laboratories. Communicate with sales and project teams, production locations, inspection authorities, technical specialists, and clients. Strive for customer satisfaction by accurately processing their requirements and delivering high-quality products.

  Your Tasks

  In summary, the daily tasks of the Welding Engineer include:

  • Adhering to design codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Creating and accurately detailing welding plans, welding method descriptions, and welding procedures.
  • Maintaining a welder qualification system.
  • Checking welding documentation for outsourced projects.
  • Responding to welding-related questions and solving problems.
  • Communicating with suppliers, customers, and third parties on welding-related matters.
  • Working within agreed-upon delivery times and budget.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in submitting change orders and addressing other welding-related issues.
  • Contributing to the development (improvement and standardization)

  To perform the role effectively, you need:

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• IWE/LPI certification.
• Experience and/or aspirations within equipment construction and/or process industry.
